Germany hasn’t been able to follow through on hundreds of deportations because of migrants engaging in tactics that make them not suited for taking flights.

Following is a summary of this Daily Caller article:

— Germany has taken 1.5 million refugees since the start of 2015, and it is trying to deport a greater amount of rejected Asylum seekers than it previously has been.

— The government plans to deport as many as 100,000 rejected applicants by the end of this year.

— According to Germany’s interior ministry, over 330 deportations have been abandoned since January 2015 due to migrants shouting, refusing to fasten their seat belts, or telling the pilot that they are being taken against their will.

— Another 108 avoided deportation because they were sick, and an additional 160 were refused by the airlines for undisclosed reasons.

— New legislation to make deportations easier was called for by Germany’s Minister of the Interior Thomas de Maiziere, with him stating that refugees commit crimes in order to stay in the country.  See the article “German Migrants Have Found An Easy Loophole To Avoid Deportation.”

— Maiziere said in June that a significant increase in deportations would only occur if the procedural shortcomings are fixed, according to Deutche Welle.

— Authorities struggle with deportations of convicted criminals as well.  A recent deportation of only three migrants back to Guinea cost $138,000 because they were considered to be violent, requiring them to travel on a private chartered plane.  Also see the article:  “Germany Drops $138k To Deport Three Africans On A Private Jet.”
