[Update: August 5, 2022— Griner has apparently been sentenced to nine years in prison, which I think is way too extreme for simply carrying some cannabis oil. Compare that with the types of sentences given in Europe that are far too much in the other direction— for example where rapists and murderers are often only given a few years in jail. I think Griner is annoying but in any event the sentence is way too extreme.]
The WNBA basketball player Brittany Griner who was arrested in February in Russia for carrying a vape cartridge infused with CBD is facing years in prison, where she (actually apparently “he”) has been in the news since that time being portrayed as a “political prisoner” despite the fact that anyone else would have been facing the same penalties.
Griner is known for staying in the locker room when National Anthem is played, and opposing a bill in Texas that would have required people to use restrooms and other facilities that correspond with their biological sex.
This Breitbart article explains that Joe Biden is offering a deal to trade a convicted Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout for Griner along with a corporate security executive Paul Whelan who was accused of spying and arrested in 2018.
Griner certainly appears to be a man, due to having a pronounced adam’s apple and the body proportions of a man, such as broad shoulders.
Men have a shoulder width of three heads, while women have a shoulder width of only 2 1/2 heads. I have added red circles to this image from Wikipedia.
This screen shot from the Breitbart article linked above shows Griner’s obviously male neck and adam’s apple. It is possible for men to have most of their adam’s apple surgically removed, but not all of it. Many images of Griner show a very pronounced adam’s apple, which does not exist on women.
