Thoughts on reality and the importance of having a good attitude

Note: Following are some thoughts that I’ve reworked from what I’ve posted on this site some years ago.  I’ve since changed this site to be in a blog format.

Everybody’s individual reality is unique, but a common “shared reality” does exist.  An example of shared reality would be the laws of physics always behaving in a similar way in everybody’s reality, for example the laws of gravity always acting consistently for everybody.

I believe that the Universe is capable of thinking and intervening in shared reality.  The fact that conscious thought and self-awareness exist within each of us proves that it is theoretically possible for such an abstract notion as thought to exist in the Universe.  The Universe tends to organize itself into fractals and subsets, and I believe that larger fractals of thought exist in the Universe.

There is no scientific proof of whether randomness actually exists or not, for example science is not able to accurately quantify turbulence, such as by not being able to exactly predict the way billowing cloud will behave.  I believe randomness is a method that the thinking Universe uses for intervening in shared reality.

While exponentially increasing technology is empowering humanity as a whole, it also serves to increase the destructive abilities of increasingly smaller groups of individuals.  If the level of beneficial restructuring of societies does not keep pace with the exponential increase in technology, there may exists a “flash point” potentially harming or destroying all life on the planet.  This destruction could be caused by corrupt or poorly configured governments or by aberrant independent individuals.  This “flash point” is a statistical certainty if appropriate restructuring does not take place in time.

People know what they experience, and everyone is capable of changing their mind.  People’s individual realities are made up of their own accumulated thoughts and experiences, and I believe it is possible for anyone to change their mind about anything based on new experiences or by learning information which forms a solid logical basis.

Having a good attitude about acting on positive intentions may invite  assistance from the Universe.  I believe that although the Universe is sensitive to the suffering of life on this planet, it may have limited power to intervene and rather relies on offering “helpful turbulence” useful to those who are willing to help try to make a positive difference in their own lives and in the lives of others.

Whether one believes that it is a thinking Universe or not, there is undoubtedly benefit in having a good attitude about doing what is necessary to improve your situation and the situation of others.
